Marlin Bachmeier is a senior technology consultant with more than 20 years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise systems – with a strong focus on Microsoft products and services. His expertise spans SQL Server administration and tuning, Microsoft application platforms, Azure cloud, mobile application development, and enterprise integrations across modern and legacy environments.

Marlin’s core specialty is Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration, performance optimization, query tuning, indexing, security, backup and recovery, and high-availability architectures. He has extensive experience maintaining mission-critical SQL environments across enterprise, virtualized, and cloud-based infrastructures.

He also has deep experience in application development and system integration, especially within the Utility and Energy Management industries, where he has architected solutions for energy billing, metering, analytics, demand management, distributed resources, and operational intelligence. His work includes API development, system modernization, complex data modeling, and integration of real-time operational and financial systems.

Marlin also developed a fully functional Rate Tariff Modeling and Calculation Platform, capable of handling complex utility rate structures, time-of-use schedules, demand charges, block pricing, riders, and dynamic calculations used by utilities and energy service organizations. This system integrates directly with meter data, billing engines, and analytics platforms, providing fast, accurate, and auditable rate computations for commercial and industrial customers. His experience building this platform gives him deep insight into real-world utility operations and the challenges of energy cost modeling.

In addition, Marlin builds cross-platform mobile applications using .NET MAUI (C#), enabling organizations to extend their data, analytics, and workflows to the field while staying on a modern Microsoft stack.

Marlin configures and maintains Windows Server, IIS, Hyper-V virtualization, networking, and Azure services, including identity, VM architecture, security, cost optimization, and hybrid deployments. He has led multiple cloud and infrastructure modernization initiatives, including data-center migrations and high-availability platform upgrades.

Known for simplifying complex problems and building scalable solutions, Marlin has led engineering teams, supported enterprise customers, and delivered software and data platforms that support high-volume mission-critical operations. He is especially strong in environments requiring performance, reliability, and robust integration between operational systems and enterprise applications.

Marlin holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology and is a licensed Professional Engineer. He works with clients across North America to help them strengthen their Microsoft platforms, modernize energy systems, and implement reliable, secure, cloud-aligned solutions.
